Herring emphasized that there was no impact to the protectee's movement, and Jill Biden was not present at the time of the incident.
The agent suffered a non-life-threatening injury and was transported to a hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition. Philadelphia police informed CBS Philadelphia that the accidental discharge took place while the agent was inside an unmarked Chevrolet SUV near the 1 PIA Way access point and the Pennsylvania Tower.
