Security Expert Slams Trump, Nicki Minaj for Mocking Nigeria's Insecurity
Trump, Nicki Minaj Criticized for Nigeria Crisis Comments

Renowned security analyst Bulama Bukarti has launched a scathing criticism against former US President Donald Trump and international rapper Nicki Minaj, accusing them of adding insult to injury regarding Nigeria's severe security challenges.

Exploiting Tragedy for Political Gain

During a recent interview with Channels Television, Bukarti expressed deep concern about how foreign figures are treating Nigeria's security emergency. He emphasized that while Nigerians continue to face daily threats and lose lives to various security crises, international personalities are using the situation for their own political and entertainment purposes.

The security expert specifically called out Donald Trump and Nicki Minaj for what he described as disrespectful behavior toward Nigeria's plight. He noted that their actions demonstrate how little value they place on Nigerian lives, despite the grave nature of the security situation affecting millions of people across the country.

Questioning UN's Choice of Representative

Bukarti raised serious questions about the United Nations' decision to invite Nicki Minaj to speak about Nigeria's insecurity problems. He pointed out the apparent contradiction in selecting a musician who has never visited Nigeria over qualified local experts and actual survivors of the violence.

"A musician who has never been to Nigeria was invited to the United Nations to speak on insecurity," Bukarti stated during the interview. He questioned why the UN didn't extend invitations to eminent Nigerian security experts, survivors of attacks, families who have lost loved ones, or even representatives of the Nigerian government.

The security specialist highlighted the irony of having someone with no direct relationship or substantial knowledge about Nigeria addressing such a critical issue on an international platform.

Inappropriate Response to Serious Matter

Bukarti particularly criticized Nicki Minaj's demeanor during her UN speech about Nigerian Christians. He observed that despite claiming to care about the affected communities, the rapper concluded her address with laughter, which he found deeply inappropriate given the seriousness of the subject matter.

The security expert's comments reflect growing frustration among Nigerian professionals about how international figures engage with the country's complex security challenges. His remarks underscore the need for authentic representation and serious dialogue about solutions to the ongoing crisis.

Bukarti's interview, which was shared on Linda Ikeji's blog on November 20, 2025, has sparked significant discussion about the role of foreign celebrities and politicians in addressing Nigeria's internal security matters.
