Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu has approved a major reshuffle, posting new Commissioners of Police to eight state commands and several strategic formations across Nigeria. The announcement, made by Force Public Relations Officer CSP Ani Iniedu on Thursday, follows endorsement by the Police Service Commission (PSC) and aims to bolster operational efficiency and leadership within the force.

- Afolabi Wilfred Olutokunbo – Abia State Command
- Ayodeji Faniyan – Plateau State Command
- Saka Adewale Ajao – Bayelsa State Command
- Ajo Geoffrey Ordue – Cross River State Command
- Nanna Oji Ama – Anambra State Command
- Patrick Daaor – Edo State Command
- Tani Murtala – Jigawa State Command
- Samuel Erale – Delta State Command
Each of these officers takes over commands in states with unique security challenges. For instance, Bayelsa and Delta commands focus on policing oil-rich Niger Delta communities, while Anambra has faced significant security pressures in recent years.
Strategic Formations Also Get New Leadership
Beyond state commands, the IGP approved postings to critical formations including the Force Intelligence Department, Force Criminal Investigation Department, Department of Finance and Administration, Department of Training and Development, the Police Academy, and the Police Staff College. However, the statement did not name the individual commissioners assigned to these units.
