Troops Foil Attempted Kidnap of Pastor and Wife in Plateau

Troops from Sector 5 of Operation Enduring Peace successfully thwarted an attempted abduction of Pastor Ayuba Bitrus and his wife, Nanman Bitrus, in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State. The incident took place late on June 5 in Faggem Village, Tarangol District.

A distress call alerted the troops, who were on operational patrol, that armed kidnappers were trying to seize the couple. The prompt intervention by the security forces forced the assailants to abandon their plan and flee the scene.

“The troops responded quickly to the report and took action that compelled the kidnappers to give up their mission and escape,” a source disclosed. The victims sustained injuries during the ordeal but were rescued and immediately taken to Dung Clinic in Bokkos for medical treatment.
