Troops of Sector 5, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), have confirmed the killing of a 45-year-old man, Mr Mabur Simon, by unidentified assailants in Maori Village, Mbar District of Bokkos Local Government Area, Plateau State. The attack occurred at approximately 9:20 a.m. on August 12, 2026, prompting a swift response from security forces.
Security Forces Respond to Attack Report
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, troops mobilised to the village after receiving a report of an attack and killing in the community. Upon arrival, they confirmed that the incident had indeed taken place. The circumstances surrounding the killing remain unclear, and security personnel have commenced investigations to identify those responsible and establish the motive behind the attack.
Investigation and Ongoing Vigilance
Makama stated that the investigation is ongoing, with troops maintaining vigilance in the area to prevent further incidents and reassure residents of their safety.
