Witness Reveals What Could Have Happened If Anthony Joshua's Car Missed Truck
Eyewitness Gives Fresh Account of Anthony Joshua Car Crash

A direct eyewitness to the recent car accident involving world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua has provided a chilling new account of the events that unfolded on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The witness, present at the exact location, has shared crucial details about the crash that claimed the lives of two of Joshua's friends.

Eyewitness Recounts The Fateful Moment

The incident, which occurred on December 29, involved Joshua's vehicle colliding with a stationary truck. In a video interview shared by News Central TV, the witness, who was nearby, described the sudden and shocking moment of impact. He explained that he and other drivers were relaxing near a canteen when they heard a loud tyre burst sound, initially mistaking it for a trailer issue. The sound was immediately followed by the crash.

"We are here, I want to enter this canteen to eat. We sat down here relaxing ourselves, we’re drivers. We just hear the sound of the tyre of the vehicle, we even think say na trailer. I hear gba," the witness recounted, capturing the suddenness of the event.

A Potentially More Catastrophic Scenario

The witness made a startling revelation about what could have transpired had the truck not been parked at that spot. He suggested that the presence of the broken-down trailer, which Joshua's car hit, may have prevented an even greater tragedy for people in the immediate vicinity.

"There’s one trailer we park for here, breakdown here, na the car hit am. If no be the trailer sef, we for dey here we no safe cause the car fit cross. As e hit the trailer, the trailer push am across there," he stated. This implies that without the truck acting as a barrier, the out-of-control car could have veered into the area where he and others were gathered.

Aftermath and Rescue Efforts

Following the collision, emergency services, including road safety officials, arrived at the scene to conduct rescue operations. The witness approached the wreckage and was stunned to discover that the famous boxer, Anthony Joshua, was involved. He described the severe damage to the vehicle and the condition of those inside.

The witness confirmed the tragic loss of life, stating, "Two white men die." The victims have been identified as Joshua's friends, Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami. He also noted that the driver of Joshua's car sustained wounds and was bleeding. The car was described as a total write-off.

This fresh testimony adds a crucial on-the-ground perspective to the earlier reports of the accident. It underscores the fragile nature of road safety and how a single parked vehicle altered the course of a potentially more widespread disaster on one of Nigeria's busiest highways.
