According to a statement issued by the Acting Corps Public Education Officer, Mrs. Felicia Kalu, the accident occurred on Monday evening at approximately 4:48 p.m. The collision involved a total of six vehicles, including two heavy-duty tippers, a commercial bus, and several private cars. The crash caused substantial disruption to traffic flow and generated panic among road users in the area.

The FRSC reported that 39 persons were involved in the incident, with more than 30 individuals sustaining various degrees of injuries. Some victims received immediate treatment at the scene, while others required transportation to medical facilities for further attention. Two male victims specifically suffered injuries ranging from bruises to fractures, with one requiring urgent first aid before being evacuated to the National Hospital.

The Federal Road Safety Corps rescue unit demonstrated rapid response capabilities, arriving at the accident scene within minutes after receiving a distress call. Officials emphasized that this prompt intervention helped prevent further casualties and ensured immediate medical attention for all affected individuals.
