Sokoto Governor Announces Four New Motor Parks Nearing Completion

Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has provided assurances that four new motor parks currently under construction by his administration will soon be completed and operational. This announcement was made on Thursday during a visit to commiserate with victims of a recent fire disaster at the Sokoto Central Motor Park.

Addressing Congestion and Safety Concerns

In a statement issued by the Director General of Media and Publicity at the Government House, Abubakar Bawa, Governor Aliyu highlighted that the four motor parks are at various stages of completion and will be put into use shortly. He attributed the fire outbreak partly to congestion at the Sokoto Central Motor Park, emphasizing the need for decongestion due to population growth.

"Our motor parks are gradually becoming congested due to the increase in population, hence the need to decongest them," Governor Aliyu stated. "That is why we came up with the idea of constructing four motor parks located in different parts of the metropolis."
