Ondo City Gears Up for 2nd Prince Adewole Adebayo Christmas Marathon & Health Walk
Ondo City Prepares for 2025 Christmas Marathon & Health Walk

Ondo City is buzzing with excitement as final preparations are underway for a major festive season event. The second edition of the Prince Adewole Adebayo Christmas Marathon and the accompanying Queen Lillian Adebayo Health Walk is confirmed to take place on December 28, 2025.

A Community Celebration of Health and Unity

This annual event, founded and powered by Prince Adewole Adebayo and Queen Lillian Adebayo, has quickly established itself as a cherished holiday tradition in Ondo State. It is designed to be far more than just a race. The core mission is to foster healthy living, encourage youth participation, strengthen community bonds, and provide a platform for festive celebration. The event is completely free to enter and welcomes participants of all ages and fitness levels, from serious runners to families looking for a fun, active day out.

Substantial Prizes and Inclusive Activities

Competitive runners have a significant incentive to participate. The marathon features attractive cash prizes across both male and female categories:

  • First Position: N2,000,000
  • Second Position: N1,000,000
  • Third Position: N500,000

Consolation prizes will also be awarded to those finishing from fourth to tenth place.

Running concurrently is the Queen Lillian Adebayo Health Walk. This non-competitive activity is tailored for families, youth groups, fitness clubs, and senior citizens who prefer a more relaxed pace. It emphasizes wellness and participation over competition, ensuring everyone can be part of the day's festivities.

Building on a Successful Foundation

The inaugural edition last year was marked by a large, energetic turnout and overwhelming community support. Learning from that experience, the organizing committee has pledged an even better event for 2025. Key improvements include:

  • Enhanced route coordination and safety measures.
  • A streamlined digital registration process.
  • More cheer zones and entertainment along the marathon path.

Prince Adewole Adebayo, a noted philanthropist, legal expert, and global policy advocate, explained the vision behind the initiative. He stated that the event is a platform for people to experience wellness, unity, and shared joy, calling it "a celebration of community and a reminder that good health is a gift we must protect."

Participants can look forward to a full day of activities including entertainment, refreshments, and medical support. Special appearances from notable personalities are also expected to add to the vibrant atmosphere.

Interested individuals can still register for either the marathon or the health walk. Registration is available at designated physical centres within Ondo City or online via the official platform: https://runsignup.com/Race/NG/ONDOCITY/PrinceAdewoleADEBAYOChristmasONDOCITYRoadRace.

With the combined efforts of Prince Adewole Adebayo, a humanitarian and youth empowerment advocate, and Queen Lillian Adebayo, a champion for health, fitness, and women's wellbeing, the 2025 Christmas Marathon is poised to be a unifying and memorable celebration for Ondo City as it welcomes the New Year.
