Six people were stabbed and a police officer was slashed with a knife during the Arsenal Champions Parade on Sunday, May 31. The incident occurred as hundreds of thousands of Arsenal supporters gathered across north London to celebrate the club winning the Premier League title for the first time in 22 years.
Police Deployment and Arrests
The Metropolitan Police deployed 500 officers to manage the crowds as chaos unfolded. A total of 24 people were arrested during the event. Among the arrests, ten individuals were taken into custody for assaulting police officers, and three were arrested on suspicion of sexual assault. The celebrations were marred by violence and gang-related incidents.
Injuries and Investigation
Police confirmed that five of the stabbings resulted in no serious injuries. However, authorities are searching for one attacker after a man sustained life-threatening injuries from a stabbing. Emergency services, including the London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance, attended the scene. The victim, a man in his 20s, was transported to the hospital with knife injuries. He remains in stable condition, and his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
No arrests have been made in connection with the serious stabbing, and the investigation is ongoing. Police urge anyone with information to contact them at 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously.
