Burkina Faso took control early, scoring three quick goals in the first 45 minutes to lead 3-0 at halftime. The Burkinabe exploited gaps in Nigeria's backline with pace and direct running, leaving the Flying Eagles chasing the game before the break.
The early pressure set the tone for Burkina Faso, who appeared determined to avenge their earlier group-stage encounter, which they had also won. Nigeria's defense struggled to contain the Young Stallions' attacking moves, and the team went into halftime with a mountain to climb.
Nigeria's Second-Half Response
