Super Eagles Stars Win 2025/26 European League Titles

Super Eagles players have enjoyed remarkable success in European football during the 2025/26 season, with most league champions now crowned. While a few competitions like the English Premier League remain undecided, several Nigerian stars have already lifted trophies in Turkey, Portugal, Cyprus, Scotland, Czech Republic, and the English second division. Here is a look at the seven Super Eagles players who secured league titles this season.

Victor Osimhen

Nigeria's biggest football star, Victor Osimhen, won his second Turkish Super League title with Galatasaray under manager Okan Buruk. This marks his second championship in Turkey, having previously won during his loan spell in his first season. Osimhen also claimed the Golden Boot in his debut season with 26 goals, but this campaign he managed 15 goals due to injury and AFCON 2025 commitments. His compatriot Paul Onuachu shared the top scorer award this season with Eldor Shomurodov.

Francis Uzoho

Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho secured his first league title after helping Omonia Nicosia win the Cypriot First Division for the first time. Uzoho made five appearances during the title run, keeping three clean sheets according to Transfermarkt.

Terem Moffi

Terem Moffi joined FC Porto in January after leaving OGC Nice following a fan invasion of the training ground where he was assaulted and hospitalized. The striker played nine of 15 possible matches, scoring one goal and providing one assist, earning praise from manager Francesco Farioli for his performances. He won the title while his former club Nice faces a relegation playoff in France.

Zaidu Sanusi

Left-back Zaidu Sanusi has been at Porto since 2020 and won his second league title with the club, playing a crucial role with 17 league appearances and contributing to two goals.

Kelechi Iheanacho

Kelechi Iheanacho is enjoying a perfect redemption in Scotland after helping Celtic win the title in his first season. He scored five goals in 13 matches, all crucial to the club's championship success. The former U17 star's revival comes after struggling at Sevilla and failing to make an impact at Middlesbrough. He signed a one-year contract with an option for another and is now likely to earn an extension.

Igoh Ogbu

Super Eagles centre-back Igoh Ogbu won his second league title in the Czech Republic with Slavia Prague, though his appearances were limited to 16 due to hamstring and muscle injuries, as well as his involvement at AFCON 2025.

Frank Onyeka

Frank Onyeka moved from Premier League side Brentford to EFL Championship side Coventry City during the January transfer window after falling down the pecking order. The midfielder, who struggled for minutes at Brentford before AFCON 2025, became an instant fan favorite under Frank Lampard. He helped Coventry win the Championship and gain promotion back to the Premier League, triggering the permanent buy option in his loan deal as noted by CCFC.

An honorable mention is Raphael Onyedika, whose Club Brugge sits atop the Belgian Pro League championship round with two matches remaining.

Victor Osimhen reacted after winning his second Super League title with Galatasaray with one match to spare. He scored twice in a 4-2 win over Antalyaspor and admitted it was a difficult match, but the comeback proved why they are champions.
