Trabzonspor Open Talks With Nigerian Striker Durosinmi Amid Benfica, West Ham Interest
Trabzonspor Talks With Nigerian Striker Durosinmi

Turkish Super Lig giants Trabzonspor have opened transfer negotiations with Nigerian international striker Rafiu Durosinmi, following his impressive performances during the 2025/26 Serie A campaign. The club is looking to bolster its attacking options ahead of the 2026/27 season after finishing third in the league standings.

Durosinmi on Trabzonspor's Radar

Trabzonspor have intensified their pursuit of the 23-year-old forward, who has been closely monitored by the club's scouting team in recent weeks. According to reports from Ntvspor, the Claret-Blues view Durosinmi as a long-term investment, despite the presence of established Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu, who joined permanently from Southampton last summer.

Durosinmi's career has reached a pivotal point after a mixed stint with Pisa Sporting Club in Serie A, where he moved in January. The Nigerian forward scored 14 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions this season, according to Sofascore statistics.

Interest from Premier League and Portugal

The striker is also attracting attention from English Premier League side West Ham United and Portuguese giants Benfica. Both clubs are reportedly considering loan arrangements to help Durosinmi regain his confidence and market value. Pisa, who signed him for €9 million plus €2 million in performance-related bonuses, are open to offers between €8 million and €10 million for the player this summer.

Durosinmi was initially included in Nigeria's provisional squad for the 2025 African Cup of Nations in Morocco but was omitted from Eric Chelle's final 23-man squad. Nigeria eventually finished third in the tournament.

Nigerian Contingent at Trabzonspor

Trabzonspor already boast three Nigerian players in their squad: Paul Onuachu, Anthony Nwakaeme, and Chibuike Nwaiwu. Onuachu remains the only regular member of the Super Eagles among them. Durosinmi could benefit from playing in the Turkish league, which has been a proving ground for Nigerian strikers.

The former Viktoria Plzen and Karvina forward has impressed over the past two seasons, particularly during the 2025/26 UEFA Europa League group stage. Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle is reportedly impressed with Durosinmi's performances and sees him as a potential replacement for Victor Osimhen, given the inconsistent form of other Nigerian strikers like Tolu Arokodare, Paul Onuachu, and Cyriel Dessers.

Onuachu Attracting Saudi Interest

Meanwhile, Paul Onuachu is reportedly attracting interest from Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli ahead of the summer transfer window. The Nigerian striker's recent form has revived memories of his prolific spell with Genk in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.
