Warri Wolves May Recall Suspended Coach Aluma After Poor Results
Suspended Coach Aluma May Return to Warri Wolves

The suspended head coach of Warri Wolves FC, Napoleon Aluma, could be making a dramatic return to the club following a series of disappointing performances in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Poor Results Prompt Reconsideration

Sources within the Delta State-owned club have revealed that management is seriously considering reinstating Aluma after the team's recent struggles under caretaker coach Jonny Austin. Aluma was suspended indefinitely in September by the Delta Sports Commission after Warri Wolves suffered a disappointing home loss to Shooting Stars Sports of Ibadan.

While Austin initially showed promise by securing some important victories, including an impressive away win in Kano, the team's form has deteriorated significantly in recent matches. The club has managed only one draw while losing two games, including last weekend's disappointing performance at Oleh.

Recall Comes With Conditions

The Guardian learned that the Delta Sports Commission is preparing to bring Aluma back, but with strict conditions. The recall would include a stern warning that the coach must improve the team's performance immediately or face outright dismissal at the end of the first stanza of the league season.

An official familiar with the situation revealed: "We want to bring Napo back, but if we hear of anything like victimization, or he fails to lift the club, we will sack him at the end of this half, which is just four matches to go."

Stadium Renovation and Continental Ambitions

Meanwhile, the Delta State government is working to complete the renovation of Warri Township Stadium by early next year, which would allow the club to return to its traditional home ground. The official expressed hope that the team could secure continental qualification this season.

"It will be great to see Warri Wolves pick a continental ticket this season so that we will open the new stadium in Warri with an international match," the official stated enthusiastically.

Coach Napoleon Aluma, who previously led Warri Wolves to promotion from the lower division, now faces a critical four-week period to prove he can turn the team's fortunes around and secure his long-term future with the club.
