On Monday, Cagliari released a statement confirming that Trepy is being treated at the Santissima Annunziata Civil Hospital in Sassari. The club said it is in constant contact with the healthcare facility and the player's family and is closely monitoring the progress of his condition.

The incident occurred during the weekend off that Cagliari players had after their 1-0 victory over Arezzo in the Coppa Italia on Friday, in which Trepy played 54 minutes.
