The 2026 edition of the Ikeja Golf Club Captain's Day tournament wrapped up over the weekend, leaving members and participants in awe of its exceptional organization. This week-long event, which commenced on March 16, featured a diverse schedule catering to various groups, including veteran men, ladies, Thursday kitty players, and participants across different handicap levels from 0-18 and above, as well as guests and order of merit contenders.

The tournament culminated in a glamorous ceremony attended by numerous eminent personalities, adding a touch of prestige to the competition's conclusion. Outgoing captain Abdulrasheed Adebisi, visibly elated, took the opportunity to express his deep gratitude to the club members for entrusting him with the leadership role over the past year.
In his remarks, Adebisi emphasized the collaborative effort behind his successful tenure, stating, "As my time as captain draws to a close, I look back with gratitude on the journey we have shared. Serving this great club has been one of the greatest honours, and I thank each of you for entrusting me with the privilege to lead." He further praised the 2025/26 management committee, highlighting their unwavering support: "I did not walk this path alone. I want to extend my sincere appreciation to the 2025/26 management committee. We spent countless hours planning, debating and working together to make our club stronger."
