Resolution and Return to Training
Following intervention from the National Sports Commission and NFF officials, the financial dispute was resolved on Wednesday afternoon, November 12. Team captain William Troost-Ekong confirmed the resolution, stating that all outstanding financial matters had been cleared and the team was now united and focused on their upcoming match against Gabon.
The Super Eagles resumed full training in Morocco after calling off their protest, with the crucial World Cup playoff semifinal against Gabon scheduled for November 13. Nigeria qualified for the playoffs after securing a vital 4-0 victory against Benin Republic, with Victor Osimhen scoring a hat-trick and Frank Onyeka adding the final goal in stoppage time.
