Nigeria's Super Eagles Return to Training After Resolving Bonus Dispute

The Nigerian national football team, known as the Super Eagles, has resumed training sessions in Morocco following a temporary boycott over outstanding bonus payments. The team had skipped Tuesday's training session in protest but returned to the pitch after successful negotiations with football authorities.

Resolution Confirmed by Team Captain

Team captain William Troost-Ekong, who holds the Member of the Order of the Niger (M.O.N) honor, officially announced the resolution through his social media account. The defender posted a clear message indicating that all financial matters had been settled and the team was united moving forward.

"Issue RESOLVED. Outstanding financials cleared and on ground. Team is UNITED and focussed as before on representing NIGERIA with our maximum for the games ahead!" Troost-Ekong wrote on his X account formerly known as Twitter.

Training Resumes Ahead of Crucial Match

The players returned to their preparation schedule with a training session held at 5:00 pm in Rabat, Morocco. This session marked their final preparations before facing Gabon in their 2026 World Cup Qualifiers playoff match.

The crucial qualifying match against Gabon is scheduled for Thursday, January 13, at 5:00 pm local time. With the financial disputes now behind them, the Super Eagles can fully concentrate on their objective of securing qualification for the upcoming World Cup tournament.

Football authorities have reportedly addressed all pending issues between players, team officials, and the governing bodies, ensuring the team can approach their important match with unity and clear focus.
