The Lagos State University of Science and Technology is gearing up for an exciting tennis spectacle as organizers finalize preparations for the 2025 edition of the Vice Chancellor's Tennis Cup. This annual tournament promises to bring together some of the finest tennis talent from across Lagos State.

According to official announcements, the competition will feature participants from all major tennis clubs in Lagos. Dr. Christian Odedafena, the Public Relations Officer of LASUSTECH Tennis Club, confirmed that players from Nigerian Navy Tennis Club, Mainland Tennis Club, Ijebu Ode Tennis Club, and the host, LASUSTECH Tennis Club, will compete for glory.
The tournament schedule has been carefully planned to accommodate different categories of players. Activities for internal players will commence on November 22, 2025, at the LASUSTECH Tennis Club in Ikorodu and continue through November 30, 2025. Invited players from other tennis clubs will begin their competitions on December 5, 2025, with the grand finale scheduled for December 6, 2025.

The prestigious event enjoys significant corporate backing with Sovereign Trust Insurance, NEM Insurance, and Coronation Insurance serving as official sponsors. This support ensures the tournament maintains its high standards and attractive prize offerings.
The LASUSTECH Tennis Club captain, Gafar Tayo, has expressed strong determination to improve upon last year's performance. "We will never allow a repeat of last year, where we were beaten in the singles final by Police College Tennis Club," Tayo vowed. The host club settled for the doubles crown in the previous edition but aims for greater success this year.
