China Telecom Unveils AI and Cloud Innovations at Mobile World Congress 2026
China Telecom showcased groundbreaking developments in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and quantum technology at the 2026 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. This event, held on March 2nd and recognized as a key indicator for the global communications and technology sectors, highlighted the company's commitment to fostering collaborative digital infrastructure worldwide. Amid a global technological revolution driven by AI, China Telecom's booth attracted significant attention with its advanced AI applications, which impressed visitors by understanding commands in both Chinese and English.
Intelligent Brain and AI Applications
At the core of China Telecom's display was the Yunzhi Phone APP, an AI-powered tool that enables seamless one-stop operations. For instance, users can simply say, "Help me buy a bottle of olive oil online and have it delivered home, and plan a trip to London," and the app handles everything from product search and price comparison to order placement and payment. This efficiency is powered by China Telecom's "intelligent brain," which serves as a unified interface across devices. Through an intent control and task distribution engine, it delivers a "Dialogue as a Service" experience, making interactions smooth and intuitive.
Global Collaboration in the AI Era
In the new AI era, industrial progress is no longer about isolated breakthroughs but requires comprehensive collaboration across infrastructure, core technologies, security, and practical applications. China Telecom, as a major player in the global information and communication industry, is focused on integrating AI with connectivity. The company is actively deploying initiatives like "AI + Intelligent Cloud, Quantum Infrastructure, Space-Air-Ground Integration, and the OneGrowth Global Cooperation Initiative." These efforts aim to build intelligent infrastructure that distributes AI capabilities widely, akin to flowing water, and brings China's expertise in cloud and intelligence to the international stage.
Core Technologies and Security
The competitiveness in AI hinges on the synergy of computing power, algorithms, and data, with "AI+Intelligent Cloud" forming the digital foundation. China Telecom leverages its core technology, "Xirang 2.0," to develop an intelligent cloud system, while prioritizing security and ecosystem growth. The security framework covers applications, models, data, and environments, establishing a comprehensive barrier. The ecosystem integrates five key areas: applications, models, data, platforms, and computing power, fostering an inclusive intelligent computing environment.
Central to this system are the Xingchen Large Model and MaaS Platform, described as the "core brain." As China's first AI large model to achieve "full modality, full size," it bridges technology with real-world scenarios, creating a trustworthy and scalable intelligent decision-making engine. This evolution transforms AI from a mere dialogue tool into a productivity driver.
Quantum Technology and Low-Altitude Economy
China Telecom is also making strides in quantum information. The Tianyan Quantum Cloud Platform, connected to the Tianyan-287 superconducting quantum computer, features the same chip as the Zuchongzhi-3. It has released a distributed cryptographic system combining Quantum Key Distribution and Post-Quantum Cryptography, along with a commercial quantum-classical encryption device. This builds a robust "Quantum Communication + Quantum Computing" system, with China Telecom offering quantum computing power globally through an open cloud service model to enhance digital security and computing capabilities.
Additionally, the low-altitude economy is emerging as a key driver for real-world intelligent upgrades. China Telecom's "1+1+4+N" Low-Altitude Economy Capability System, based on an integrated solution foundation and low-altitude intelligent network, centers on four digital platforms: Xingyun, Xingdun, Xingxun, and Xinghan. It has implemented over a thousand projects in areas like forest patrol, aviation emergency response, and agriculture. This comprehensive approach not only ensures efficient and safe operations but also supports global innovation in the low-altitude industry with standardized solutions.
Future Outlook and Global Partnerships
Looking ahead, China Telecom is navigating the AI era with cloud intelligence as its guiding force, promoting global expansion through value-driven initiatives. By building a cutting-edge cloud-intelligent foundation and fostering an open, collaborative ecosystem, the company is developing replicable Chinese solutions. China Telecom aims to work with international partners to shape the future of AI, co-creating a new era of technological advancement and shared prosperity.
