GATEWAY Program Launches Registration to Train 340,000 Nigerian Youths for Global Gig Economy

The GATEWAY Program, a transformative five-year initiative spearheaded by Co-creation HUB Ltd (CcHUB), has officially opened its registration portal. This ambitious project aims to train and connect an impressive 340,000 Nigerian youths to sustainable global gig work opportunities, addressing the critical skills-to-employment gap in the country.

Strategic Focus on High-Demand Digital Skills

Designed to harness Nigeria's youth dividend amid the rapidly expanding global gig economy—projected to reach approximately $1.85 trillion by 2032—the program concentrates on four market-relevant creative digital skills. These include Digital Marketing, Video Production and Editing, Graphic Design, and UI/UX Design. By equipping participants with these in-demand competencies, GATEWAY seeks to transition young people from unemployment into viable income generation.

Inclusive Approach and Targeted Pathways

Inclusivity lies at the heart of the GATEWAY Program, with a deliberate emphasis on empowering underserved groups. The initiative specifically targets women, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), and displaced youth, including young men, to address gender imbalances and ensure meaningful participation in the digital workforce.

The program offers two distinct learning pathways tailored to varying skill levels:

  • Growth Pathway: For skilled digital and creative talents looking to enhance their portfolios and access gig opportunities.
  • Foundations Pathway: For beginners needing to acquire core digital and creative skills for entry into gig work.

Nationwide Implementation and Leadership Vision

GATEWAY will be implemented across 10 Nigerian states: Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Abuja, Kano, Kaduna, Rivers, Delta, Edo, and Enugu, ensuring broad geographic reach. Ojoma Ochai, Managing Director of Co-creation HUB Ltd, emphasized the program's significance, stating, "The GATEWAY Program represents a crucial, life-changing intervention in Nigeria's youth unemployment challenge. By connecting 340,000 vulnerable young people to high-demand creative digital skills and direct pathways into the global gig economy, we are enabling them to become immediate and sustainable income earners."

Registration is now active on the GATEWAY portal (gateway.cchub.africa), inviting young Nigerians to build skills, deepen expertise, strengthen portfolios, and access global gig work. This initiative underscores a commitment to not just certification but successful transition into dignified employment, marking a pivotal step in leveraging technology for economic empowerment.
