The Chief Executive Officer of E-Terra Technologies Ltd., Ifeanyi Ochonogor, has emphasized the urgent need for collective action to address the environmental and health hazards posed by improper electronic waste disposal. Speaking at a stakeholders' workshop on e-Waste Management and Circular Economy organized by the Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA), Ochonogor stated, “the time has come for citizens, government, and all relevant stakeholders to work together in unison to combat the menace of electronic waste and ensure a safer and cleaner environment for present and future generations.”

Workshop Highlights Circular Economy Solutions

Themed “Transforming e-Waste into Opportunity: Circular Economy Solutions for Ogun State,” the workshop featured presentations, panel discussions, and interactive sessions aimed at promoting awareness, collaboration, and sustainable approaches to e-waste management within Ogun State and beyond. Participants included government officials, environmental experts, private sector stakeholders, recyclers, and sustainability advocates.

Plans for Africa’s First Waste Recycling and Refining Facility

Ochonogor informed participants about the commencement of plans for what is projected to be Africa’s first Waste Recycling and Refining Facility in Shagamu, Ogun State. He noted that the project would significantly enhance sustainable waste management practices, create employment opportunities, and further position Ogun State as a hub for environmental innovation and circular economic development in Africa.
