Dangote Fertiliser Limited (DFL) has published the official procedure for businesses and individuals seeking to become distributors of its Urea fertiliser in Nigeria. The four-step process begins with mandatory registration at the federal government level.
Step One: Federal Government Registration
Prospective distributors must first register with the Farm Input Support Services (FISS) Department of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security. This registration is done through the National Fertiliser Management Programme portal at www.nfmp.gov.ng.
After completing the initial registration, applicants receive the distributorship application forms, registration guidelines, and Know Your Customer (KYC) due diligence forms via email.
Required Documents for Application
DFL requires a comprehensive set of documents from applicants, including:
- Company profile
- Bank reference letter
- Application letter
- Valid means of identification
- CAC certificate
- Certified True Copy (CTC) of the Memorandum and Articles of Association
- Certified True Copy (CTC) of the Certificate of Incorporation
- Active CAC Status Report
- FISS Certificate
- Certified True Copies of passports of all beneficial owners
- Audited financial statements for the last three years
- Tax clearance certificate
- Utility bill
- Anti-money laundering policy
- Bank reference
Submission and Approval Process
Completed forms and supporting documents must be submitted in person at DFL's office located at Km 15, Lekki Coastal Road, Okunraye, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos. Alternatively, applicants may send the documents by courier.
Following a successful review, DFL will create a customer code for the applicant. An appointment letter is then sent via email, after which the newly registered distributor can begin commercial engagement and place orders.
Order Quantities and Farmer Support Services
Dangote Urea Fertiliser is sold in 50kg bags and must be ordered in full truckload quantities. Available truck sizes carry either 30 metric tonnes (600 bags), 36 metric tonnes (720 bags), or 45 metric tonnes (900 bags).
DFL also highlighted its support services for farmers, including the Dangote Agricultural Service (DAS), which provides expert training, demonstration farms, field days, and multilingual farmer support. The company offers a free mobile soil testing service that assesses nutrient needs and advises on the right fertiliser application.
The company states its Urea fertiliser has a nitrogen content of 46 per cent, designed to deliver even field coverage, faster crop growth, and higher yields while remaining easy to handle due to its low moisture content.
