The Ogun State government under Dapo Abiodun continues to demonstrate commitment to community development. In line with this, the Ijebu Boys Association (IJBOYS) has announced a series of activities scheduled for May 2026 to mark its 10th year anniversary. The programme highlights the association's unwavering dedication to social impact and community service.
Medical Outreach and Anniversary Dinner
At the heart of this year’s programme is the IJ Boys Medical Outreach, a two-day free healthcare initiative set to hold on May 22nd and 23rd, 2026, at the De-Millennium Hall (Itoro Hall), Ijebu-Ode Local Council secretariat. The outreach, which has grown steadily in scale and impact over the years, is expected to provide essential medical services to hundreds of residents across Ijebu communities.
Complementing the medical outreach is the association’s 10th Anniversary Dinner, scheduled for Sunday, May 24th, 2026, at the IJBOYS Secretariat, GRA, Ijebu-Ode. The event will serve as both a celebration of a decade of impact and a moment of reflection on the journey so far, bringing together members, partners, and stakeholders who have contributed to the association’s growth.
Growth and Achievements
From a humble beginning in 2016, the association has evolved into a dynamic network of professionals and entrepreneurs across Nigeria and the diaspora, united by a shared vision – the sustainable development of Ijebu Land. What began as a response to personal loss has since blossomed into a structured platform for intervention, touching thousands of lives through healthcare, welfare support, education outreach, and community-driven programmes.
Over the past nine years, IJBOYS has delivered consistent, measurable impact. Its medical outreaches alone have reached over 9,000 beneficiaries, alongside notable interventions such as COVID-19 palliative support for over 3,000 households and the donation of essential drugs to public health institutions. These efforts reflect not just generosity, but a deliberate, long-term approach to community advancement.
Education Empowerment and Literacy Outreach
The association, during its Five-day Economic Convention last year, launched the Education Empowerment and Literacy Outreach Programme, a flagship initiative aimed at promoting learning, literacy, and academic excellence among secondary school students across the Ijebu Provincial Council in Ogun State.
Speaking on the 2026 initiatives, the President of the Association, Olukayode Okenla, noted: “Our work is guided by a deep sense of responsibility to our roots. Each project is designed not only to meet immediate needs but to contribute to a stronger, healthier, and more prosperous Ijebu society.”
