Toyota Introduces 2026 RAV4 to Nigerian Market

Toyota-by-CFAO Nigeria has officially introduced the all-new 2026 Toyota RAV4 to the Nigerian market, making the sport utility vehicle (SUV) available to local customers simultaneously with international markets. The company stated that this launch represents a significant milestone for Nigeria's automotive sector, where many buyers have traditionally relied on used vehicles and grey imports that often lack warranty coverage or structured after-sales support.

Warranty and After-Sales Support

The new RAV4 comes with a three-year manufacturer's warranty, Toyota-certified after-sales support, and nationwide availability of genuine parts. First customer deliveries have already commenced, ensuring that Nigerian buyers receive the same specification vehicle available globally, backed by full manufacturer support.

Managing Director's Statement

During the unveiling, Managing Director of Toyota-by-CFAO Nigeria, Boye Ajayi, emphasized that Nigerian customers no longer need to wait years before accessing current-generation Toyota models. He described the SUV as a major upgrade, with improvements visible across design, technology, and driving experience.

Variants and Powertrain

The 2026 RAV4 is available in three variants: Active (2.0L, 2WD), Comfort (2.0L, 4x4), and Limited (2.0L, 4x4). All variants are powered by a 2.0-litre DOHC petrol engine producing 172 horsepower and feature sport, normal, and eco drive modes. Built with Nigerian road conditions in mind, the SUV offers 201mm ground clearance, a 481-litre luggage compartment, and a 55-litre fuel tank designed for longer intercity travel.

Standard Features

Standard features across the range include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, dual-zone automatic climate control, LED headlamps, 18-inch alloy wheels, smart keyless entry, push-button start, rear-view camera, and a six-speaker audio system with steering wheel controls. Toyota-by-CFAO also equipped the SUV with front MacPherson strut suspension and an electric parking brake aimed at improving ride comfort and ease of use in traffic conditions.

Safety Features

Safety features include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), hill-start assist, engine immobiliser, and multiple airbags for driver and passengers. The company stated that each variant is tailored to different categories of motorists.

Variant Specifics

While the Active variant targets urban drivers seeking fuel efficiency and practicality, the Comfort trim adds all-wheel-drive capability, heated front seats, roof rails, rear USB charging ports, and front fog lamps for customers who frequently travel outside major cities. The top-spec Limited variant comes with a 12.8-inch infotainment touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, and power-adjustable heated front seats.

CFAO Mobility Statement

Managing Director of CFAO Mobility, Denis Martin, said the launch reflects investments made in showroom experience, technical capacity, and after-sales infrastructure aligned with Toyota global standards. Toyota-by-CFAO currently operates service centres in Victoria Island and Amuwo-Odofin in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt, with plans to expand to 75 authorised service points nationwide by March 2027.

Early Demand and Availability

The company added that dozens of customers placed confirmed orders ahead of the official unveiling, indicating strong early demand for brand-new globally current vehicles supported by structured after-sales service. The 2026 Toyota RAV4 is now available nationwide, while a public launch event featuring test drives and on-site ordering is scheduled for June 11, 2026, at the Victoria Island showroom in Lagos.
