The 7th Africa Advancement Forum (AAF) Global Summit is set to take place in London in 2026, organisers have announced. The summit, which has gained prominence as a key platform for discussing Africa's development, will bring together global leaders, investors, policymakers, and innovators to address critical issues facing the continent.
Summit Focus Areas
The 2026 summit will centre on sustainable development, investment opportunities, and technological innovation. According to the AAF organisers, the event aims to foster partnerships that drive economic growth and social progress across Africa. Key topics will include renewable energy, digital transformation, infrastructure development, and youth empowerment.
“The Africa Advancement Forum has become a vital convening for stakeholders committed to the continent’s transformation. London provides an ideal setting to engage international partners and mobilise resources for Africa’s development agenda,” said a spokesperson for the forum.
Previous Editions and Impact
Previous editions of the AAF Global Summit have been held in major cities including New York, Dubai, and Johannesburg. The forum has facilitated billions of dollars in investment commitments and launched numerous initiatives in education, healthcare, and agriculture. The 2026 edition is expected to build on this legacy, with a target of attracting over 1,000 delegates from more than 50 countries.
The summit will also feature high-level panel discussions, networking sessions, and exhibitions showcasing African entrepreneurs and innovations. Organisers emphasise that the event will prioritise actionable outcomes, including signed memoranda of understanding and project launches.
Strategic Importance of London
Choosing London as the host city underscores the UK’s role as a major financial hub and partner for Africa. The UK government has expressed support for the summit, recognising its potential to strengthen economic ties between Africa and Europe. The event is scheduled for the third quarter of 2026, with exact dates to be announced later this year.
“We are excited to host the AAF Global Summit in London. This forum will highlight the immense opportunities in Africa and catalyse investments that benefit both continents,” added the spokesperson.
