Mecure appoints Anderline Dukor as sole CEO for N50bn expansion

Mecure Plc has announced the appointment of Anderline Dukor as its sole Chief Executive Officer, consolidating leadership ahead of a major N50 billion expansion push. The move, effective immediately, positions Dukor to drive the company's strategic growth across multiple sectors.

New Leadership Appointed

According to a company statement, the board of directors approved Dukor's elevation to sole CEO after a comprehensive review of the firm's leadership structure. Dukor, who previously served as co-CEO alongside another executive, will now have full executive authority over operations, finance, and strategy. The board cited his deep industry expertise and proven track record in managing complex projects as key factors in the decision.

“We are confident that Anderline Dukor’s visionary leadership and operational acumen will steer Mecure towards achieving its ambitious growth targets,” said the board chairman in the statement. The appointment comes as Mecure prepares to deploy N50 billion over the next three years to expand its footprint in real estate, energy, and infrastructure.

The Expansion Strategy

The N50 billion expansion plan, announced earlier this year, targets new developments in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt. It includes funding for mixed-use property projects, renewable energy installations, and transport infrastructure upgrades. Mecure expects the initiative to create over 2,000 direct jobs and generate significant economic impact in host communities.

Dukor, who holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Lagos, has been with Mecure for 12 years. He previously led the company’s real estate division, overseeing the completion of five major commercial complexes worth N15 billion. His appointment as sole CEO streamlines decision-making as the company scales up.

Market Reaction and Outlook

Industry analysts view the leadership consolidation as a positive signal for investors. The Nigerian Exchange Limited-listed firm’s shares edged up 1.5% following the announcement. Mecure plans to finance the expansion through a mix of debt and equity, with a rights issue expected later this year.

The company’s board emphasized that Dukor’s mandate includes improving operational efficiency and exploring new partnerships. “Under Dukor’s guidance, we intend to accelerate our project delivery timelines and strengthen shareholder value,” the chairman added. The expansion aligns with Nigeria’s infrastructure development goals and is expected to bolster Mecure’s market position.
