Dr. Ifeoma Douglas Launches Ssonic Gas Foundation, Urges Private Support for Less Privileged
Ssonic Gas Foundation Launched to Support Vulnerable Nigerians

In a powerful call to action, Dr. Ifeoma Douglas, founder of the newly established Ssonic Gas Company Foundation, has urged compassionate Nigerians to actively join forces with the government in addressing the pressing needs of the nation's less privileged. She declared that no single administration can bear this immense responsibility alone.

A Foundation Built on Compassion and Service

The appeal was made during the official launch of the Ssonic Gas Company Foundation in Abuja on 2 December 2025. The high-profile event attracted a distinguished gathering, including ministers, top government officials, industry captains, religious leaders, celebrities, and thousands of eager beneficiaries.

Dr. Ifeoma, in her address, explained that the foundation was born from a deep-seated personal conviction to serve humanity. She described it as a structured platform designed to create opportunities for vulnerable groups across Nigeria. While acknowledging government efforts, she stressed that the vast scale of need nationwide necessitates the involvement of private individuals, corporations, and philanthropic organizations.

"Government alone cannot cater for the needs of the less privileged," Dr. Douglas stated. "Every compassionate Nigerian must rise to support humanitarian efforts. The Ssonic Gas Company Foundation is a dream that God placed in my heart — a dream to touch lives, uplift families, and create opportunities for the young and old. We are here to serve, to give, and to lift as many people as possible."

High-Profile Endorsements and Family Pride

The launch was a family affair, attended by her parents, Senator Ifeanyi Ararume and his wife. In his goodwill message, Senator Ararume expressed no surprise at his daughter's expansive humanitarian vision, praising her long-evident compassion and heart for people. He commended her for using the foundation to provide mentorship, access, and meaningful opportunities to countless Nigerians.

The event gained significant weight with the presence of two key ministers: Dr. Bernard Doro, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, and Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of State for Gas. Both officials lauded Dr. Ifeoma for her clear vision, purpose, and commitment to community empowerment. They specifically praised the foundation for focusing on structured, long-term interventions capable of transforming lives on a national scale.

A Coalition for Change and Celebration

Further solidifying the foundation's potential for impact, other notable leaders pledged their support. Stella Okotete, Executive Director of Business Development at NEXIM Bank, applauded Dr. Ifeoma's courage in embarking on large-scale philanthropy at a time when private-sector support for humanitarian causes is critically needed.

Also in attendance were Barrister Peace Oyanbo, founder of the She4She Initiative, and Emmanuella Arukwe, Managing Director of the NNPC Foundation. They offered encouragement and pledged partnerships for the foundation's upcoming projects.

The formal proceedings soon transformed into a vibrant celebration of giving. The foundation distributed:

  • School bags, books, and educational materials to thousands of women and children.
  • Over 600 bags of rice and cash support to Christian and Muslim groups, as well as women from diverse communities.

The atmosphere reached a euphoric peak when gospel music stars Moses Bliss and Mercy Chinwo took the stage. Their powerful worship and energetic praise performances ignited waves of rejoicing, with guests, clergy, women, and youths dancing in celebration of what many described as a timely and visionary foundation.
