Lady Reveals DStv Called Her With Promo Offer After She Abandoned

A young Nigerian lady has sparked online discussions after revealing that DStv, owned by MultiChoice, contacted her with an unexpected promotional offer. She shared details of the phone conversation on social media, explaining that she had long abandoned the satellite television service due to price increases.

Lady Explains Why She Left DStv

In her post, the lady, identified as @veekeeuche on Twitter, stated: 'DStv just called me and said our Compact plan of 30,000 naira is now 15,000 naira on promo.' She admitted feeling sympathetic toward the company because many Nigerians had stopped using DStv after the price hike. She expressed regret that the company did not listen to earlier complaints about pricing, noting that customers had suggested a pay-as-you-use model similar to mobile SIM cards.

'I kind of felt for them because since the hike in price, we abandoned it. I wish they listened to us when we were complaining about the prices. We were saying they should make it pay as you use like SIM card, and they didn’t listen,' she wrote.

DStv Subscribers Return for Football

Man Speaks on DStv Yearly Plan

Meanwhile, a Nigerian engineer, Chizitere Ahubelem, popularly known as Chizzy Whizzy on Facebook, shared his long-time experience with DStv subscriptions. He revealed that he has been subscribing to the DStv Premium dual-view package yearly for over 15 years. During his recent renewal, he noticed that the company did not increase its price as usual, which he felt might be due to low patronage.
