The Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) has confirmed the successful repair and restoration of the critical Lagos-Escravos-Lagos gas supply infrastructure, which had been vandalised. This vital pipeline is a major source of gas for numerous power plants across the country, and its damage had caused significant disruptions to electricity supply over recent weeks.

In a statement released on 27 December 2025, NISO management credited the Nigerian Gas Infrastructure Company (NGIC) for completing the repairs.
