The Committee of Friends for Humanity (COFFHA) has unveiled two major initiatives: a N300 million skill acquisition fundraising campaign and the investiture of its new president, Mrs. Augustine Igbokwe. These developments mark a significant chapter in the organization's humanitarian efforts.
New Leadership for COFFHA
In a statement titled 'Build the Future Today,' COFFHA announced that Mrs. Augustine Igbokwe will be formally invested as president on Sunday, June 14, 2026. The organization described this as a historic milestone, highlighting her vision, energy, and dedication.
Mrs. Igbokwe's appointment reflects COFFHA's commitment to compassionate leadership. Her experience and passion for humanitarian service position her to guide the organization into its next phase of growth and impact.
N300 Million Skill Acquisition Campaign
Alongside the leadership transition, COFFHA launched a fundraising campaign to complete construction and equipping of its Skill Acquisition Centre. This facility will provide practical vocational training and economic empowerment to youth, women, and underserved community members.
Mrs. Igbokwe called on individuals, corporations, philanthropists, faith-based organizations, and well-meaning members of society to partner in raising the funds. She emphasized that the centre will equip beneficiaries with marketable skills, foster self-reliance, and create pathways out of poverty for countless families.
“Every contribution, no matter the amount, is a direct investment in the lives of people who need it most. When communities come together, transformation follows,” she added.
