SMEDAN DG Commends Falcon Chemicals for Innovation

The Director-General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), Charles Odii, has commended Falcon Chemicals Limited (FCL), an indigenous manufacturer of local preservatives, for its innovative operations. Odii made this commendation while briefing journalists after touring the company's facilities. He stated that FCL has qualified to access funds to begin exporting its products to neighboring countries.

40th Anniversary Celebration

Odii's visit coincided with the company's 40th anniversary celebration on April 29, 2026. He noted that Falcon Chemicals has built substantial capacity and should not be shortchanged for any reason. “And so Falcon Chemicals should not be shortchanged as a result of capacity. The company has capacity and I will make sure that it gets the push so that they can expand,” Odii said.

Family Business and Legacy

“I want to congratulate Falcon Chemicals Limited on its 40th anniversary. I am always excited to see companies outlive their founders. This is an organisation going through second-generation leadership; the founder has passed away and has left it to his son. One of the things we are doing at SMEDAN is teaching people how to run family businesses,” Odii added.
