RCCG Region 52 Leads Community Cleanup and CSR Initiatives in Lagos
The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Region 52, based at the Garden of Peace Parish in Falolu, Surulere, Lagos, has undertaken a significant community cleanup effort as part of its Church Social Responsibility platform. This initiative involved cleaning Falolu and adjacent streets, demonstrating the church's commitment to serving its local environment.
Strategic Quarterly Cleanup Program
Pastor Samuel Olaniyan, the Pastor of the Regional Headquarters, explained that the church has strategically implemented this cleanup commission every quarter of the year. He emphasized that this effort is regarded as one of the core responsibilities inspired by the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye.
"We are taking care of the environment. We cut grasses, desilt the drainages, sweep the streets, and make sure where we reside as a church is clean," Pastor Olaniyan stated. "This is also a message to our people to embark on the cleanliness of their environment with a view to promoting a hygienic atmosphere."
Expanded CSR Initiatives for 2026
Beyond the cleanup, Region 52 has packaged several other community-focused programs for the year. One key initiative is the Welcome Back to School programme, scheduled for August and September. This program will provide scholarships to secondary school children, along with stationery, bags, and organized classes.
Additionally, the church plans to visit prisons, hospitals, and less privileged environments as part of its outreach. Pastor Olaniyan highlighted that CSR is a vision of General Overseer Pastor Adeboye, linked with the National Headquarters of RCCG, and is present across all Regions, Provinces, Zones, and parishes.
Six Major CSR Objectives Under Pastor Olaniyan
Since Pastor Olaniyan was posted to head Region 52 Headquarters, he has carved out six major areas or objectives for the CSR program at the Garden of Peace Parish. These include:
- Education and Empowerment
- Health and Environment
- Food Bank and Feeding Program
- Hospital and Prison Ministry
- Drug Abuse and Mental Health
- Sports
The Garden of Peace Parish has already embarked on empowering widows and widowers both within the church and the broader community. This effort involved distributing bags of rice, beans, cartons of noodles, bags of garri, and spaghetti to support those in need.
This comprehensive approach underscores RCCG's dedication to holistic community development, aligning with its mission to impact society positively through practical service and support.
