The Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) is set to hold its annual Bible Reading Marathon in Lagos from Monday, March 24 to Friday, March 28, 2025. The event will take place simultaneously in 47 centres across the state, running daily from 9am to 5pm.
Simultaneous Readings Across 47 Centres
According to the organisers, the marathon will feature continuous reading of the Bible in multiple languages, allowing participants to engage with the scriptures in their mother tongue or a language of their choice. The exercise is designed to promote Bible literacy and spiritual engagement among Nigerians.
19 Languages Represented
Participants will have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of languages, including English, Isoko, Igala, Yoruba, Efik, Igbo, Hausa, Nupe, Khana, Urhobo, Fulfude, Jju, Bokyi, Edo, Arabic, Tiv, Itsekiri, Kanuri, and Nembe. This linguistic diversity underscores the BSN's commitment to making the Bible accessible to all Nigerians, regardless of their linguistic background.
Free Admission
Admission into the marathon is free, making it accessible to all interested individuals. The BSN encourages Lagos residents and visitors to participate in this spiritual exercise, which is expected to draw large crowds to the various centres.
The Bible Society of Nigeria, established in 1966, has been at the forefront of Bible translation and distribution in the country. This year's marathon is part of its ongoing efforts to promote scripture engagement and spiritual growth.
