Brazil ranks second with 280,000 to 300,000 churches, driven by the rapid growth of Evangelical and Pentecostal Christianity in Latin America's largest nation. Nigeria's third-place position, with over 100,000 churches, places it ahead of countries with larger landmasses, a result of its strong Pentecostal movement and significant Catholic and mainline Protestant presence.
Russia, Mexico, Philippines, and China Complete the List
Russia accounts for an estimated 90,000 churches, many affiliated with the Russian Orthodox Church, reflecting a revival since the 1990s after decades of state-imposed atheism.
