Pastor Adeyokunnu Reveals Secret of Blessing is in Giving at RCCG Lagos Dedication
Secret of Blessing is in Giving, Says RCCG Pastor Adeyokunnu

Pastor Joseph Adeyokunnu, the Pastor-in-Charge of Region 31 in The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has declared that the principle of divine blessing is fundamentally rooted in the act of giving. He made this powerful statement during the official dedication of the RCCG Jesus Assembly Zone's new building in Alakuko, Lagos, on Sunday, 6 December 2025.

The Biblical Principle of Sacrificial Giving

Representing the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, Adeyokunnu drew profound lessons from biblical scriptures, including 2 Samuel 12:24-25, 1 Kings 17:7-16, 1 Kings 3:10-12, and Ephesians 3:20. He centered his message on the life of King Solomon, explaining how his birth and destiny were marked by divine favor.

God's method of blessing, according to the cleric, often involves creating an opportunity for the individual to do something significant for Him. He illustrated this using the story of the temple. "God wanted to bless Solomon in a supernatural way by creating an opportunity for him to build a temple for Him, instead of his father, David," Adeyokunnu stated.

David's Example: A Costly Sacrifice

He elaborated that while David was a man after God's own heart, he was denied the privilege of building God's house. That honor was reserved for his son, Solomon. Adeyokunnu highlighted a critical moment in David's life that believers should emulate.

"David promised that he would not offer God any sacrifice that would cost him nothing," the pastor recounted. He noted that David insisted on purchasing the threshing floor for the temple site at a price, even when it was offered to him for free. This, Adeyokunnu stressed, is the attitude required for meaningful giving.

"A sacrifice that must cost me something... that is the way it operates in the spiritual realm. If you want God to take you to a higher realm, learn this principle," he advised the congregation. "Anybody He wants to bless, He gives him the opportunity to do something for Him."

A Dream Realized in Alakuko

The event marked the culmination of a journey that began in January 2023. Pastor Bode Olawunmi, the Pastor-in-Charge of Jesus Assembly Zone and Assistant Pastor-in-Charge of Province 29 (Admin), gave a brief history of the church's efforts.

"Today, we are celebrating the glory of God who helped us to purchase a building amid economic hardship. God helped us, we were able to renovate it, and today, we are dedicating it to God," Olawunmi expressed with gratitude.

He specially appreciated Pastor Adeyokunnu, who was accompanied by his wife and other dignitaries. The delegation included Pastor Debo Akande, Pastor-in-Charge of Region 61; a member of the Federal House of Representatives for Yelwa Constituency who is also Chairman of Pacific Hotel; past pastors of the assembly; and numerous members whose "labour of love" made the edifice a reality.

Pastor Adeyokunnu commended the members for their steadfast contributions, framing the new building as a testament to their collective faith and sacrificial giving. The ceremony was sealed with the symbolic cutting of the tape by Adeyokunnu and other ministers, dedicating the facility for divine use.
