Friends of Jesus Charity Celebrates Nine Years of Transformative Outreach in Nigeria

The Friends of Jesus (FOJ), a charitable organization affiliated with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has marked its ninth anniversary with a celebration of its ongoing mission to support the less privileged across Nigeria. Established with a vision to address basic needs in Redemption City, its environs, and nationwide, FOJ's impact was highlighted during a recent Thanksgiving event and the presentation of its 2025 Operations and Financial Report at Redemption Resort in Ogun State.

Heartfelt Testimonies from Beneficiaries

Numerous beneficiaries shared powerful stories of how FOJ has alleviated their struggles. Mrs. Olubukola Elizabeth Williams, a widow, recounted how the group helped sustain her son's university education. "I have been a widow for many years, trying to care for my children by selling foodstuff. When my son's school fees became overwhelming, FOJ stepped in, allowing him to continue his studies. This has brought peace to my heart, and I believe God will bless them for their support," she said.

Another beneficiary, Mrs. Ajani Rukayat, expressed gratitude for FOJ's assistance with her daughter's medical needs. "My youngest child was born without an opening to pass faeces, requiring surgery that was financially out of reach. FOJ provided the necessary support for the procedure, and I am deeply thankful for their kindness," she shared.

Mr. David Idemudia highlighted FOJ's role in securing housing for his family after an accident drained their resources. "We were evicted when our rent expired, and with four children, it was a desperate situation. FOJ helped us find an apartment, giving us a roof over our heads and a chance to rebuild our lives," he stated.

Leadership Reflections and Future Goals

Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye, the Visionary Founder of FOJ, spoke at the event, expressing joy at seeing God's love transform lives and restore hope. She thanked members and partners for their prayers, encouragement, and resources, urging continued compassion in service. "As we embrace this new year, let us press forward with renewed strength, serving others with compassion and joy," she charged.

Pastor Olugbenga Omojola, Director of FOJ, reflected on the group's achievements, attributing success to divine grace. He detailed the financial disbursements from the previous year, including:

  • N6,574,550 on medical support
  • N3,600,000 on accommodation
  • N3,932,800 on education
  • N1,660,000 on business assistance
  • N8,869,875 on welfare programs

Omojola announced ambitious targets for 2026, aiming to impact over 5,000 families through a food bank initiative and onboard 10 new corporate partners and 50 new individual partners. He emphasized the importance of public support, noting, "We are in the trenches, caring for the needy, and God has been helping us. God values giving and rewards givers—I am a living testimony to that."

Nine Years of Faith in Action

Mrs. Uche Aderibigbe, Chairman of the Anniversary Planning Committee, reflected on FOJ's journey, describing it as an extension of Jesus' hand. "The Bible teaches us to walk in Jesus' steps by helping those in need. Helping the needy should be a core part of our Christian practice, as everyone requires assistance in some way," she remarked.

Over the past nine years, FOJ has operated various initiatives, including a clothes bank, food bank, and direct financial aid for rent, hospital bills, and school fees. The organization's commitment to uplifting communities continues to grow, with plans to expand its outreach and deepen its impact across Nigeria.
