The Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy has signed a charter with InternSify Africa Limited, a firm focused on empowering African youths through AI-driven learning, to employ 3,000 youths across Nigeria's 36 states under the 3 Million Technical Talent Programme (3MTT).
Initiative Details
The Chief Executive Officer and Founder of InternSify Africa Limited, Julius Osilamah, disclosed the charter to The Guardian yesterday in Lagos. He stated that through this initiative, 3,000 Nigerian youths will have the opportunity to launch their careers, secure employment, and earn N150,000 monthly.
Deployment and Skills
According to Osilamah, under this initiative, youths will be deployed to various senior and junior secondary schools across the country to teach Federal Government-accredited technical skills. These include Programming (Python, JavaScript, HTML/CSS), Data Science Basics, AI and Robotics, Digital Entrepreneurship, Cybersecurity, Certified Ethical Hacking, CompTIA Security, and Solar Energy Technology. Other skills include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Research, Coding (Python Basics and Advanced Scratch), and Robotics (Basic Kits).
Training and Immediate Employment
Osilamah explained that youths who already possess any of these skills will be employed and deployed immediately. Those without the required skills will undergo a one-month training by InternSify before being posted.
Progress So Far
Over 157 graduates have been engaged so far, and 94 secondary schools across the country have come on board. Osilamah urged more schools and school owners to take advantage of the initiative.
