Mind Builders School Founder Marks 70th Birthday, 50 Years

Stakeholders in the education sector are preparing to honor veteran educator Mrs. Bolajoko Falore for her 70th birthday and five decades in the teaching profession. Attention has turned to the growth of Mind Builders School, the Lagos-based institution she founded nearly three decades ago.

Symposium to Mark Milestones

The Trustees of Mind Builders Education Trust will host an annual symposium on June 20, 2026, at the school's hall in Ikeja, Lagos, to commemorate the milestones. The event is expected to bring together education practitioners, policymakers, academics, and business leaders to discuss issues relating to educational development, leadership, and sustainability.

The symposium will feature the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of United Bank for Africa (UBA), Oliver Alawuba, as keynote speaker. Former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Idowu Olayinka, will deliver the guest lecture.

School Growth and Expansion

Founded in 1998 with 18 pupils and six teachers operating from a section of a duplex in Omole Phase 1, Lagos, the school has expanded into a multi-campus institution with approximately 450 students and 128 teaching and non-teaching staff. The organizers noted that the school currently operates 48 classrooms and several specialized learning facilities, including science laboratories, information and communication technology centers, language and mathematics laboratories, art and music studios, and home economics facilities.

The institution has also expanded its physical infrastructure with an annex campus in Omole Phase 2 and sports facilities accommodating football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, tennis, and swimming activities.

Falore's Contributions to Education

According to the organizers, Falore's contributions to education extend beyond classroom teaching. Through her involvement in professional bodies, including the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), the Association of Private Educators in Nigeria (APEN), and the World Organization for Early Childhood Education (OMEP), she has participated in advocacy efforts aimed at improving educational standards.

The symposium is expected to provide a platform for discussions on the future of education and the role of leadership in strengthening learning institutions across the country.
