A Nigerian lady who attended Mountain Top University (MTU), a private institution owned by the Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries (MFM), has shared eight unusual rules that surprised her during her time at the school. Despite growing up in the MFM church, she revealed that several regulations caught her off guard.
Lady Shares Surprising Rules at MTU
In a TikTok video posted by @thelady_precious, Precious detailed the rules that stood out to her. She stated, “If you’re going to be in a relationship, you have to inform the chaplain. The chaplain has to be aware.” This requirement for relationship disclosure was among the most unexpected for her.
She also listed items banned on campus, including AirPods and fashion glasses. Additionally, learning a musical instrument was compulsory. Precious noted, “Learning of an instrument was very much compulsory. I learnt the saxophone even though I can only play on a and c. No.8, three days dry fasting with serious deliverance.”
Reactions from Social Media Users
The video sparked a wave of reactions from viewers. One user, NEXT_OF_KIN, commented, “I’m sorry, how do these rules impact your studies??? I’m trying to understand these rules but they seem irrelevant to me.” Another user, an MFM member, shared, “I'm an mfm member so I have nothing short but I have elastic skirts and I don't do attachments but this school came after my life. My parents are pastors in mfm but only half of the children came to mtu, the remaining half are in Federal universities. It's hilarious, funny how things I can't wear at home and church even makeup I do it in school despite it called contrabands.”
Another commenter, zinney_cole, recalled, “When MTU first started, relaxed hair wasn’t allowed, people had relaxed hair but we were pressured to go natural, some listened but it later died down.” A user named ALPHA ENT asked, “Abeg this rules do they apply for masters students make i know my mind cause i am being forced to do masters and MTU is on the list.”

Mountain Top University was established by the MFM church, founded by Dr. D.K. Olukoya. The institution is known for its strict adherence to religious principles, which influence its campus policies. Precious’s video highlights the unique blend of academic and spiritual life at the school.
