Nigerian Law School 2026: Full List of Outstanding Graduating Students

The Nigerian Law School has released the complete list of prize winners for the 2026 Bar Part II examinations, with Israel Adekunle Adeniyi named the Overall Best Graduating Student during the Call to Bar ceremonies held from July 7 to 10 at the Body of Benchers Complex in Abuja.

Adeniyi’s Outstanding Academic Journey

Adeniyi, a Common Law graduate from the University of Ilorin with a cumulative grade point average of 4.83, trained at the Lagos Campus of the Nigerian Law School. In recognition of his exceptional performance, the Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation awarded him a ₦2 million cash prize.

Joint Female Best Graduating Students and Other Top Performers

Chiamaka Happiness Modestus of Igbinedion University, Okada, and Adetutu Loren Gomez of the University of Lagos were jointly named Female Best Graduating Students and Joint Second Overall. Timilehin Adebayo and Freedolyn Ani of Obafemi Awolowo University tied for Joint Third Overall.

The Law School also recognized the best students in each of the five core Bar Part II subjects:

  • Civil Litigation: Ifeoluwa Ajaiyeoba (Abuja Campus, Afe Babalola University) – First; Ivy-Mary Eweputanna (Lagos Campus, University of Nigeria, Nsukka) – Second; Sandra Idoko (Lagos Campus, Father Adasu University) – Third.
  • Professional Ethics: Ogechi C. Ifezie (Lagos Campus, University of Nigeria, Nsukka) – First; Israel Adeniyi – Second.
  • Criminal Litigation: Timilehin Adebayo (Abuja Campus, University of Lagos) – First; Oluwatomisin Daniel (University of Ilorin) – Second; Happiness Modestus (Port Harcourt Campus, Igbinedion University) – Third.
  • Corporate Law: Emmanuel Oyelami (Abuja Campus, University of Ibadan) – First; Ndukwu Chibundom (Yenagoa Campus, Nnamdi Azikiwe University) – Second; Israel Adeniyi – Third.
  • Property Law: Francis Obiahu Alu (Lagos Campus) – First; Victoria Sogade (Enugu Campus, University of Lagos) – Second; Niniolaoluwa Ilori (Lagos Campus, Ajayi Crowther University) – Third.

Other Recognized Students

Additional prize recipients included Victoria Sogade, Niniolaoluwa Ilori, Ivy-Mary Eweputanna, Sandra Idoko, Oluwatomisin Daniel, and Ndukwu Chibundom.

The Call to Bar ceremonies marked the formal admission of thousands of new lawyers into the Nigerian legal profession after completing the mandatory professional training programme.
