In a follow-up tweet, Dr Akanbi posted a short video of herself delivering her valedictorian speech in fluent Russian, thrilling the entire graduating class, faculty, university leadership, and gathered family and friends. She captioned the video: 'Thank you everyone. I am physically incapable to respond to every comment but I am grateful and honored to be a Nigerian and wear my identity proudly.'
