The Agege Local Government Area (LGA) in Lagos State has announced the recruitment of Customer Service and Sales Officers, referred to internally as Smile Officers, to work at health booths across the area. The announcement was made by the LGA chairman, Abdulganiyu Vinod Obasa, on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, via his verified X (formerly Twitter) account.
Eligibility Requirements for Smile Officer Positions
According to Obasa, the recruitment drive aims to bring on board individuals committed to serving residents and expanding access to healthcare within Agege communities. The ideal candidates must hold a minimum of an Ordinary National Diploma (OND), Higher National Diploma (HND), or a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in any field. The age limit is set between 21 and 30 years old.
A key condition is proximity to work: all applicants must reside within 20 minutes of the health booth they would be assigned to. Additional requirements include strong communication and interpersonal abilities, a basic understanding of customer service and sales, a valid National Identification Number (NIN), and active registration with the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA).
Application Deadline and Submission Details
The application window closes on Friday, October 9, 2026. Interested candidates are instructed to submit their curriculum vitae (CVs) directly to the Office of the Chairman, Agege Local Government. For inquiries about the recruitment process, applicants can contact the local government at +234 803 835 0008.
Obasa urged eligible residents to seize the opportunity, noting that the roles are central to the local government's push to make healthcare more accessible to people living in Agege.
