A graduate of the University of Ibadan (UI) has shared her experience of sitting for the institution's first computer-based test (CBT) post-UTME examination in 2021, revealing that she scored 72 out of 100.
Graduate's Post-UTME Experience
According to the graduate, who goes by the handle @OyelekeYusroh on social media, she overheard people claiming that Arts students performed poorly in the exam. However, her own result contradicted that narrative.
She wrote on her social media page: 'UI Post UTME (2021). Backstory: UI changed its Post UTME format, and we were the first set to write CBT. Imagine Roman numerals for Government? I think most people said Arts students' results were bad, and UI wouldn't even consider you if you didn't score up to 50. I had 72.'
Graduation and Course of Study
In a separate post, the graduate announced that she had completed her studies at the University of Ibadan, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Language Arts. She shared photos of her final-year project and wrote: 'It's a wrap. B.A. Communication and Language Arts, University of Ibadan. One chapter closed. Many more ahead.'
The University of Ibadan introduced the CBT format for its post-UTME screening in 2021, marking a significant change from the previous paper-and-pencil method. The graduate's score of 72 exceeded the commonly cited threshold of 50, which many believed was necessary for consideration.
