UNILAG Grad Earns MBA with 5.0 GPA at Miva Open University

Omodolapo Lawal, a Nigerian woman and graduate of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), has earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Miva Open University with a perfect 5.0 cumulative grade point average (CGPA). She shared her inspiring journey on LinkedIn, revealing that she nearly declined the opportunity.

Journey to the MBA

Lawal, who holds a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from UNILAG, recounted that her then-fiancé, Segun, first suggested she enroll in the MBA program. Initially resistant, she told him, “I’m not doing it.” However, months later, during a church service in Minna, Niger State, she felt a divine prompting that this was her next step. She called her fiancé and agreed to begin.

The 18-month program coincided with major life transitions: wedding planning, marriage, relocating abroad, becoming pregnant, and starting a new job. Despite moments of doubt and overwhelm, she credited her husband for unwavering support—financially, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
