UNILAG Postgraduate Admission Guidelines 2026/2027 Out

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has published its admission guidelines for postgraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session. The School of Postgraduate Studies announced that the sale of application forms commenced on April 7 and will close on July 24, 2026.

Application Process and Requirements

Qualified candidates from recognized institutions are invited to apply for full-time, part-time, executive, and Open Distance Learning (ODL) programmes. Applicants are advised to contact relevant departments to confirm the availability of supervisors or vacancies before submitting their applications.

The application process is online via the School of Postgraduate Studies portal at https://spgs.unilag.edu.ng. Candidates must complete a pre-application form to obtain a payment reference number and pay a non-refundable fee of N40,000 through Remita or online bank debit card.

Steps to Apply

  • Visit the SPGS portal and click the “APPLY” link.
  • Check programme entry requirements by selecting postgraduate and desired programme.
  • Start a fresh application, select postgraduate option, and complete pre-application form.
  • Make payment of N40,000 via Remita or online payment.
  • Return to the portal, click “Continue Application”, log in with payment reference number and surname (lowercase) as password.
  • Complete the form and upload a digital passport photograph (JPEG, max 15KB, white background, 275x314 pixels).
  • Submit the form if correct, or decline to edit.

Ineligible Candidates

UNILAG stated that candidates awaiting bachelor's degree results, currently enrolled in other postgraduate programmes, or Nigerian citizens yet to complete NYSC are not eligible. Also, holders of degrees from Outreach/Satellite campuses cannot apply.
