First-Class UNILORIN Graduate Wins Italy Scholarship
Blessing Adisa, a first-class mathematics graduate from the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), has announced that she secured a full scholarship for a two-year master's program at the University of Calabria in Italy. She is now seeking financial support to cover her visa application, flight ticket, and initial settlement costs.
Academic Excellence and Passion for Applied Mathematics
Adisa graduated with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.76. In a LinkedIn post, she expressed her passion for applied mathematics, particularly through courses like Optimisation Theory and Modelling. She noted that these subjects demonstrated mathematics as a powerful tool for solving real-world challenges. For her undergraduate thesis, she designed optimization models to minimize commodity transportation costs and aims to expand this research to create industrial solutions.
Financial Gap and Fundraising Efforts
Adisa revealed that she has officially accepted the admission offer and paid her enrollment fees using savings from student tutoring and a soft loan from a friend. She is currently in the process of authentication, translation, and legalization of her documents. To facilitate her travel and initial stay, she needs a total of €3,122 (approximately ₦4,918,711 or $3,563.73). She is soliciting financial assistance through multiple channels: a GoFundMe page, a Dynaraise campaign, and a First Bank account (account name: Adisa Blessing Oluwafikayo, account number: 3126731920). She also requested likes and reshares to help reach her goal.
