Rotary Club Launches ICT Lab and Digital Learning Facilities for Students
The Rotary Club of Omole-Golden has donated a 75-seater ICT laboratory at the Dairy Farm Senior Secondary School, Agege, on April 28, 2026. This initiative, the club said, aligns with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S Plus agenda, falling under the “Education and Technology” pillar.
Tutor General/Permanent Secretary Education District 1, Dr Idowu Oyetola, commended the organisation for the initiative, calling it a promise given, promise fulfilled, and promise kept. “This is the 21st century. Education is not complete without technology. And your club deemed it fit to support the dreams and aspirations of our large number of students to be among 21st-century students,” Oyetola stated.
According to her, the governor has provided ICT gadgets for students across schools in Lagos, and the club’s gesture complements the governor’s effort. The Permanent Secretary also congratulated the students, imploring them to take ownership of the devices and guard them jealously.
The President of the Rotary Club of Omole-Golden, Rotarian Adekunmilola Adio-Moses, said that joining hands with the Lagos State government in this initiative makes a difference and is impactful. “The beauty of supporting governments like Lagos State is that the government itself is already doing so much. So, we get to create a synergy where we work with governments that are already proactive and making a difference. And with the government of Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, it is a pleasure and a privilege to be able to support government initiatives in improving access to education and technology,” said Adio-Moses.
He added that the project helps the club to be hopeful about the future of the students, as through the project, the students will become digital experts.
One of the students, Ibrahim Wiqoyat, expressed gratitude to the club for the project, calling it an incredible gift. Wiqoyat stated that the project came as a surprise to her. “I never really expected it. The only thing we were told was that they were coming to make a new development in our school, a new investment. We never expected it to be something this beautiful,” she said.
