A young boy aspiring to study a science course at the University of Ibadan (UI) has made a public appeal for financial assistance. He revealed his impressive Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) score and explained why he has not yet registered for the National Examinations Council (NECO) examination. The boy also spoke about his family's current financial situation and mentioned his desired course of study.

University of Ibadan Aspirant Seeks Financial Help

The brilliant student, who applied to the University of Ibadan, has taken to social media to beg for scholarship support to enable him to write his NECO examination. He disclosed the score he obtained in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). In the recently concluded UTME, he achieved a high score and is now preparing to sit for his Senior Secondary School Examination.

While he is focused on the examination, he explained that a difficult situation at home has made it challenging for him to afford the NECO registration fee. As a result, he turned to the public for scholarship assistance to cover the NECO examination costs and to support his education if he eventually gains admission to the University of Ibadan.

Boy's JAMB Score and Dream Course

In a TikTok video posted by @marjoriegrahamfoundation, the young boy identified himself and shared his JAMB score. He said: "My name is Oniyide Emmanuel, and I am from Egan Senior Grammar School. Early this year, I wrote JAMB, and by the grace of God, I came out with a score of 326."

He then revealed the course he wishes to study at the University of Ibadan: "I want to study Biomedical Engineering at UI, that is the University of Ibadan. I need to write NECO, but presently, due to the financial situation at home, I have not registered. Things are not so smooth at all. I need a scholarship because of the financial situation I mentioned."

He also disclosed that he surpassed the admission cut-off mark for Medicine and Surgery by seven points.
