A graduate of Ekiti State University (EKSU), who once cried profusely after checking her Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) score, has gone viral years later after sharing the final Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) she achieved. The young woman also revealed that she set two records during her studies, one in her department and another in the faculty.
From Tears to Triumph
In a TikTok post, she recounted her experience with JAMB. She wrote: 'I have imagined introducing myself like this for so long... and now it is real. This journey did not start perfect. I wrote JAMB once and gave it everything I had. When I saw my score, I cried because I knew I gave it my all. My family stood by me, guided me, and I trusted them even when I did not fully understand the path.'
Despite her initial disappointment, she gained admission into the university. However, her first year was challenging. She added: 'Getting into school felt like a fresh start... but my first year almost broke me. A carryover and a delayed result? I cried, I was scared, I almost gave up. But God stepped in and turned everything around.'
Academic Excellence and Achievements
From that low point, she resolved to never let it happen again. She started with a 4.50 GPA, experienced a drop, but refused to stay there. By her 300 level, she achieved a perfect 5.00 GPA. Balancing school and business was not easy; there were days she handled orders before exams and still showed up to write. Despite the exhaustion, she persevered.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Science Laboratory Technology (Biotechnology and Biological Science), earning a First Class degree from Ekiti State University. She was named Best Graduating Student in Science Laboratory Technology and Best Graduating Student in the Faculty of Life Sciences, with a final CGPA of 4.70.
